What data do we collect?

None. Face2Face has no servers, no accounts, no analytics, no ads and no third-party SDKs. Nothing you say, type or read is sent anywhere.

How your conversations are processed

• Speech recognition runs on your device with Apple's on-device speech models. The app never uses a server for recognition: if a language can't be recognized on your device, the app tells you instead. Audio is never recorded or saved.
• Translation runs on your device with Apple's Translation framework. Translation models are downloaded from Apple by the system, the same way Apple's Translate app does, and are shared with it.
• Reading aloud uses the voices built into iOS, on your device.
• Conversation history (if you keep it on) is saved only in the app's storage on your device, is not included in iCloud backups, and can be deleted at any time or automatically after 7 or 30 days. Deleting the app deletes it.
• Settings are stored locally on your device.

Permissions

• Microphone & Speech Recognition — to hear both people and turn speech into text, on the device.
• Camera (iPhone Duo only) — iOS lets apps show content on the iPhone Duo outer display only while the app's camera is on. Face2Face turns the camera on only while it uses the outer display. Camera frames are discarded immediately: they are never shown, recorded, saved or analyzed.

Permissions are requested only when needed. Declining affects only that feature.

Children's privacy

Face2Face collects no data from anyone, including children.

Changes to this policy

Any change will be posted on this page with a new effective date. "No data collected" is a product principle and will not change.
